Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Group Home

Job Description

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team in a group home setting. As a DSP, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them lead more independent and fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
  • Encourage and support individuals in developing skills for independence, including cooking, cleaning, and managing personal finances.
  • Facilitate community integration by organizing and supporting participation in social, recreational, and employment activities.
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to individuals, helping them navigate challenges and build self-esteem.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals, ensuring they receive appropriate services and opportunities.
  • Monitor the health and safety of individuals, administer medications, and coordinate with healthcare providers as needed.

Qualifications:

House Manager - Group Home

Quality Assurance Specialist

Location: Central Virginia

Job Description

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all services provided in the group home meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting audits, analyzing data, and implementing improvements to enhance the quality of care and services provided to individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Quality Control Systems: Create and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Conduct Regular Audits and Inspections: Perform routine checks to ensure that all aspects of the group home are operating according to established standards.
  • Analyze Data: Collect and analyze data related to service delivery, individual satisfaction, and compliance with regulations. Review agency policies and procedures to ensure compliance with facility operations and update them as needed to align with state regulations.
  • Document Findings: Maintain detailed records of audits, inspections, and quality assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with group home staff to identify areas for improvement and provide training on quality control measures.
  • Investigate Complaints: Address and resolve any complaints or non-conformance issues reported by individuals, families, or staff.
  • Report to Management: Provide regular reports on quality metrics and performance to the management team.
  • Stay Updated: Continuously monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the group home remains compliant and up-to-date with best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Nursing).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance or a related field, preferably in a healthcare or group home setting.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in data analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Quality assurance certifications (e.g., CQA, CQIA) are a plus.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing group homes and residential care facilities.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: This position involves working in a group home setting, with occasional travel to other locations as needed.
