what is feng shui?

Feng shui is an art and science that was born out of China over 4000 years ago. It is translated "Wind Water" and is a natural system of evaluating energy (ch'i) that is in every living and "non-living" thing.

This vital energy is in constant movement even though it is not visible to the naked eye. Our physical environment is a container for ch'i. Feng Shui can effectively create positive changes in your life by clearing unhealthy energy and promoting healthy energy that is supportive to you and your goals.

The relationship you have with your home is very personal. All of its contents have a strong connection to your memories and associations to yourself and your relationship with others. In feng shui, your surroundings are an environmental affirmation of you. It reflects who you are, where you have been and where you are going. However, your home or your work space is more than a mirror, it consists of a dynamic energy that affects you, just as you affect it. Floor plan layout, color, lighting, furniture placement and clutter are typical examples of how it can influence you.

The Bagua Map

Your home has an energy map that represents all areas of your life and this is called the BaGua (Ba means 8, Gua is the quadrant). These 8 energy centers include Family, Health, Career, Skills and Knowledge, Wealth, Reputation, Relationship, Children and Helpful People. Utilizing this map based on Form School Feng Shui, Living in Balance will assess these areas of the home and enhance areas that you would like to influence.

"Shauna has worked with us over the past 4 years and since that time we have moved to a larger home and been able to expand both of our businesses.  Shauna is the best Feng Shui practitioner I have worked with and I highly recommend her to people who are ready to make big leaps in the lives."
